Educate, Inform and Impact in a fun and effortless way.

Last summer holidays, my kids told me that their friends visited Ikorodu ferry terminal to enjoy a boat ride with their parents, and they never stopped talking about the experience their friends shared with them. Now the pressure started building, these guys wouldn’t stop. Hubby said it was a great idea, but  I was very reluctant because of my water phobia. Well, finally we went there, and it was a super fun experience. So, this is what I have been missing out on in this big Lagos? It’s part of my bucket list this summer holiday again.

The terminal is situated at Ebute, in Ikorodu. Immediately you get into the terminal, head to the ticketing area to get a ticket to your destination.

  • Bluetooth player to play your favourite music on the go during the cruise

  • Bring plenty of toys depending on how many kids you are taking along
  • Pack your binoculars to explore the sights of far and beyond; you could also use them as a prop to play pretend as a pirate.

In other to perfectly enjoy the boat ride with your family; these following tips will be beneficial

Tip 1: Keep life jacket on-board

Every child should wear a life jacket on board. Even if your kid is a fish lol, a life jacket is a must.

Tip 2: Sun Protection

It is very important to carry along sun protection, like water-based sunscreen lotions for the kids; hats are always a great option to prevent sunburns.

Tip 3: First-Aid Kit

With all the fun and games when kids are on board, there’s bound to be an occasional scrape and scratches. Keep a first-aid kit on your boat in case of any emergency.

Tip 4: Explain the Rules

Before you board a boat with your children, they need to know that being on a boat means being more careful and aware that they are not at home. Explain to your kids never to put themselves between the vessel and the dock. Show them dangerous areas on the boat and tell them always to be seated when the boat is moving.

The best time to explain the rules is before you get on the boat. That way, your kids understand what you expect from them, and you won’t have to stop on the way to explain once the boat takes off.  These laid down rules are better for everyone; it is best to be safe than sorry.

Visit Ikorodu ferry terminal and go have some fun boat ride with your kids this summer holiday, and don’t forget to share this with parents on your network.
